01 – The Story

You're likely here because something stuck with you, an episode you didn't expect to feel so much during, or a line you found yourself repeating days later. Here's what I'd rather you know.

I’ve always been the person people end up talking to. The late conversation, the one at the kitchen table that runs long, the talk you didn’t plan but needed. Over time I came to believe that the conversations that genuinely change us rarely happen on a stage. They happen quietly, between two people who decide to be honest with each other.

I’m fascinated by how different generations see the world. We experience things so differently, yet we’re all chasing the same few things — peace, connection, meaning. That curiosity is really what started all of this. So did my own road here: seasons where everything flowed, and seasons where I had to stop and question everything. Growth, I’ve learned, isn’t always a loud “aha.” Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable. Sometimes it’s just being honest with yourself.

But the real spark was two people. My friend Nancy is about twenty years older than me, and her wisdom just stays with me. My nephew is almost twenty years younger — in the military, with an emotional intelligence that genuinely blows me away. Being around both of them opened my eyes: wisdom doesn’t have an age limit, and you can be real friends across generations, not just mentor and student.

So that’s what Kirbylicious is. Most episodes, I bring together two people from different generations — not to debate or prove who’s right, but to listen, and to find the similarities that surprise us. Then there are episodes like the solo ones: a check-in, a moment to pause and integrate what we’re learning together. My hope is that older generations feel seen and honored, because their stories matter. And that younger people feel encouraged to widen their circles — there’s so much you can’t get from a feed. It goes both ways, too. Younger generations have just as much to teach the rest of us.

My aim isn’t to hand you a five-step plan or pretend I have everything figured out. If even one person reaches out to someone from a different generation because of this show, that’s the whole win. That’s always been the point — to build a space where you leave feeling a little more understood than you did before you pressed play.

With you,

— Kirby

In case no one has told you today: you don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t need all the answers right now. What matters is that you keep showing up, stay open to the conversation, and trust that clarity often comes one step at a time.

02 – Professional Bio

The work, in brief.

Kirby Repolido is the host and creator of Kirbylicious, a podcast grounded in a single conviction: the most honest conversations deserve to be heard. Across two ongoing series, the show explores what connects us through age, experience, and the unscripted middle of being human.

Beyond the studio, Kirby writes a weekly letter to a growing readership and is building a community of people who would rather have one real exchange than a hundred shallow ones.

Kirbylicious is produced by Kirby Studios, the creative studio Kirby also runs — helping other brands tell their story with the same care, from podcasts to video, newsletters, and websites.
